Reiki is a spiritual medicine for all diseases of the body and mind and aims to harmonize and heal. Let's know all the secrets of this energetic therapy.
Reiki is an alternative therapy that promotes relaxation of the nervous system, benefits blood flow, and improves metabolism.
According to the people who put it into practice, they state that it has an influence on emotional disorders, it can ease symptoms or enhance treatments. With the management of energies, a unique mental clarity is achieved, generating a balance between the environment and the encounter with oneself.
With its practice, we can achieve an opening of the heart, reprogramming the belief system, be aware of what we create day by day, and be responsible for ourselves, and not put the blame outside.
The word reiki comes from the Japanese language, rei (universal) and ki (vital energy that flows through the five senses). This energy is called in different ways: in India, it is called Prana, in China, it is called Chi, in Catholicism, it is the holy spirit, and in Japan Ki.
The therapy consists of the transmission of universal energy through the imposition of hands. It can be on the body of another person or self practicing it. It is done through a series of figures that are performed with the hands and the sessions can be in person or remotely.
Ancient civilizations used this therapy, it is even said that Jesus Christ learned to give reiki in India and practiced it with the sick. At some point in history, it became extinct and between 1970 and 1980 it was rediscovered by Mikao Usui.
Usui was a Buddhist and as such he held the idea that we are all unity, this defines the paradigm of reiki: that is to say that we all experience unity with the cosmos, returning to the origin.
All things, people, and living things have energy, in essence. It is neither positive nor negative. Mothers, for example, heal their children without being aware of it, by touching or transmitting energy.
The pillars of reiki are: Gassho, Reiji, and Hoy Chiryo. Gassho means two hands joining. Chiryo means treatment. Aligning fears and life mission. The mission is to come to develop our gifts.
Reiki is based on Hindu beliefs, the human being has a series of health states. These states may or may not create existential blocks along the chakras. The word chakra comes from Sanskrit and means wheel or disc.
The chakras are energy centers located in the human body and there are seven of them: root chakra, sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat, third eye, and crown chakra. The energy should flow freely through these chakras but sometimes for different reasons they get clogged producing diseases or imbalances. According to the philosophy of reiki for example regrets to lower the energetic frequency.
Reiki has five basic principles which are:
1- Just for today (anchoring ourselves in the present)
2- Don't get angry
3- Always give thanks
4- Work honestly
5- Be kind to others
The practice promotes the cleansing of thoughts, actions, deeds and helps to control the state of vibration. It has no major contraindications but we must keep in mind that if someone who is unbalanced gives us a reiki session may disharmonize us, so it is important to look for people who can circulate our energy in a natural way.
A reiki session can last about 45 minutes. At the end, the person has a sense of peace and may feel warm or cold and sleepy, depending on each body.
There are traditional reiki, kundalini, and akashic reiki. It can work on situations from this life or past lives. Sometimes, it is used to resolve situations that generated traumas or left emotional wounds.
After a session, it usually can cause a state of emotional detoxification, which can lead to sleepiness, diarrhea, fever, crying, etc.
It is important to clarify that it is not a substitute for any medical treatment under any point of view.
